Description: Pennant, Romanian XV, 1955, blue with gold circle and blue letter "B" (Bucharest) inset. Yellow "1955" beneath. Gold tassels. Reverse is gold with blue text: "SWANSEA - COMBINTA BUCHARESTI SWANSEA 3. IX. 1955".
Info: This pennant was presented to Swansea RFC by the touring Romanian team on 3rd September 1955. The visit was made in response to Swansea's tour in Romania the previous year. The Romanian side, which was virtually a national fifteen, won the match 39 - 3. They played three other games on the tour: Cardiff (lost), Bristol (drawn) and Harlequins (drawn). Following the Swansea match a Romanian player defected with the aid of MI5 and Swansea's Matty Davies.
