Tie worn by South African captain Abe Malan when they hosted the Welsh tour of 1964, It was given to Dewi Beb who played in the Test match on 23rd May 1964 in Durban. This was Wales' first tour abroad and, although they won 3 of the 4 Provincial matches, the Springboks won the Test convincingly with a 24 - 3 score line. But the result started a series of reforms in Welsh rugby that heralded in a second 'Golden Era' in the 'seventies.
