Info
-
It is rare to find a pair of rugby socks from this early period. These were worn by Tom Henry during his playing career with Swansea from 1903-04 to 1905-06. Tom played 3 matches for the 'Invincible' 1st XV and 21 matches for the 2nd XV. He had previously played for Swansea Excelsiors and Neath. A broad shouldered forward, he derived his great strength from his work as a coal trimmer. He later played for the Swansea Coal Trimmer's Club and for Danygraig. Tom Henry was also a three times Champion bowls player with the Swansea Coal Trimmers' Bowling Club.
