Education
Swansea students, and students from elsewhere, are welcome to help with the work of the Collection in different ways and as part of their studies. They can:
- Research and write reports and dissertations on historical themes
- Make contributions to the website
- Investigate objects in the Collection
- Catalogue objects in the Collection
- Give talks and demonstrations on the technologies and their historical context
Students engaging with the Collection receive training and supervision appropriate to their needs. For example, among the students to help with our first website were David Chisnall (Microsoft Research Labs, Cambridge) and Victoria Wang (Reader in Security at Portsmouth University).
The initial framework of basic topics is to be revised. To date students from computer science, business, media and history have benefited from the opportunities, and have had assessed work on technical, social, economic and heritage studies.
