This Scotland/Ireland jersey was worn by Ireland skipper Willie John McBride, during the Scottish Rugby Union Centenary match against an England/Wales side. The SRU was founded in March 1873 but the commemorative match was played between a Scottish/Irish side and English/Welsh side on 14th October 1972 at Murrayfield. Scotland/Ireland won by 30 points to 21. Swansea’s Mervyn Davies played for the England/Wales team and having swapped jerseys with McBride, presented this rare jersey to Swansea Rugby Club.Presented by Mervyn Davies
