Lantern slide. Showing the Esna canal. This photograph was taken by Sgt. Johnson of the 436 Welsh Field Company c. 1917. It formed part of a lecture which he gave. The notes from his lecture read 'Here we have a small barrage at Esna which spans a canal cut for the purpose of irrigation. This canal is 50 miles long. This view is similar to EC1753 and EC1792.
