Abstract
-
Wales jersey worn by Swansea back John Idwal Rees against Ireland at St Helen's ground, Swansea on 12th March 1938. Wales won the match 12 - 8. This was the last of 14 Welsh caps to be won by Rees and as it was played on his home ground, he presented the jersey to the Swansea club. Letters replaced numbers on Welsh jerseys for a period in the 1930s. The backs were given 'A' to 'G' corresponding to 15 to 9. Forwards were given 'H' to 'O' corresponding to 1 to 8.
